Safety Net…

The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step]. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down, for the Lord grasps his hand in support and upholds him.
~Psalm 37:23-24~

You may not know it or believe it but you have a fail proof safety net under and around you 24/7. It’s called the hand of God.

We are the ones that allow the holes to form in the net when we decide to move away from Gods way and the principles of Gods word. By doing that we move, weaken and damage the net.

A good man’s steps are directed and established by God. It says ‘He’ ‘busies’ Himself with our every step! He delights Himself in our way when we live His word and His ways.

The thing I noted here was He delights in us all the time He loves us that never ceases or changes, but He delights in our WAY as we walk in His way. Nothing changes his love for us, He loves us at all times. Nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

We fall when we live apart from his word, principles and laws, that road is, full of craters, bumps and obstacles, yet Hs mercy still endures. It catches when we trip. If we are living to the best of our ability according to it then Gods mercy helps us through.

I love that picture of Gods hand reaching to grasp us when we are about to slip. The hand I see is large, strong, firm and secure. I am so glad that by the grace of God I know God is looking after me. My goal is to keep that safety net in tact by living the bible as best as I can and allowing it o change and transform me each day.

How does it work?…

Something I was talking to God about today is how we pray about things in our lives and families. I said to him I really could have done without this writing material because of course my experiences give me writing material and I really would have rather done without this bit of experience what people are going through and what I have learnt from it.

I have been praying about this particular situation for a long time, as a matter of fact a few years. When I would pray for all my friends and family every morning this particular need was always brought up. It was like praying in advance for something that hadn’t happened yet way before it would happen but that would happen one day. So it was a little bit baffling to me in line with thinking about Ephesians 3:20 He is able to do immeasurably more…

What I am wondering is how you get cohesion of these two things when the thing you were praying for, for some reason goes terribly wrong? How do these things have cohesion? You pray for life, for protection and destiny and you believe that He is able to do immeasurable more and then sometimes things go really bad, worse than you could have even thought of, so much so that you never thought it could happen?

Then you start thinking that ‘that is not immeasurably more!’. In the past that is where I have let that little thought catch me! It becomes ‘THE CATCH’ because whenever I heard that verse Ephesians 3:20 – now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more I think of all the possibilities and I also think of all the things that haven’t gone right, all the negative hard things. I am able to process that now but I don’t know how that fits together, so I am not sure how that works together because this had been my experience, I had already prayed in advance. So somehow, somewhere, some reason it does apparently fit together into the big picture of our lives.

This does not destabilize my new-found tiny grasp of understanding of Ephesians 3:20. I know He is able to do immeasurably more, but we just aren’t sure how it works in conjunction with the plan of our lives and every individuals life.

This Too Shall Pass…

We have to remember this: THIS TOO SHALL PASS!

Our ups and downs are just part of the cycle of our life and they are normal. We can’t live on an ‘up’ and we dont want to live in a ‘down’! We cant stay ‘up’ the whole time either, I have experienced a few ‘down’ times in this last few weeks too.

I can say, this is where the faith grows from, in the practice of it! I fail so often with my emotions, but it passes so much quicker now. Once we realise this then it doesn’t take too much to shake it off… We all need someone to make us laugh to shake it off! We just have to want to laugh dont we ? More than wanting to allow the emotions to overwhelm.

This too shall pass!
